In this post, I reflect on Jesus’ letter to the church in Smyrna. A church that understood the weight of discipleship and what it means to endure faithfully.

This reflection on Revelations 2:1-7 explores the question: What happens when faithfulness continues, but love is no longer first? As Christ calls the Ephesians to remember, repent, and return, we are reminded that our works are never meant to replace intimacy—and that agapē love remains the foundation of a living faith.

Enduring faith is built before the storm arrives. When we root ourselves in God’s Word, practice obedience, and remain committed to prayer and community, our faith grows resilient and we are able to rest in God’s peace through every mountain and valley.

Joy rooted in Christ is not dependent on ease. When life brings sorrow and uncertainty, God invites us into a deeper joy...one anchored in His faithfulness, strengthened through prayer, renewed thinking, and trust beyond circumstances.
